A new report reveals the decision allowed an extra $1 billion in special interest funding in the 2012 election

It’s been three years since the Supreme Court issued it’s outrageous decision in Citizens United vs. FEC, overturning the flimsy campaign finance protections afforded under McCain-Feingold law. The case opened the floodgates to billions of dollars perverting our elections, much of it completely unreported, and some amount even coming from foreign corporations and governments. The Court literally legalized bribery, and wealthy individuals and special interests took full advantage of it.

The election may be over, but the glad-handing continues. So much for the president's pledge to keep donors at bay

Here’s a thought experiment:  What if a group of Social Security and Medicare recipients wanted to increase their benefits by, say, 1,000 percent, and proposed seizing rich people’s assets – houses, cars, boats, whatever – to pay for it? And whenever anybody suggested that was extreme, they rolled their eyes and said, “We’re pragmatists.”
